Don't Let It Taint You
In his sermon “Don’t Let It Taint You,” Pastor Battle used the story of Mephibosheth to illustrate how life’s hardships should not distort our faith, gratitude, or expectations of God. He emphasized that we must endure seasons of testing and uncertainty, just as Mephibosheth remained faithful despite being forgotten in Lodebar. He reminded us of the importance of gratitude and indebtedness to people, highlighting how King David honored his covenant with Jonathan, showing kindness even when it wasn’t required. Finally, he challenged the congregation to live with obedience and gratitude to God, while expecting even greater things ahead, just as Mephibosheth received not only restoration but a seat at the king’s table. Pastor Battle encouraged us to remain steadfast, grateful, and faithful, trusting that God’s favor is greater than any hardship—so don’t let it taint you!
