Interfaith

Western Avenue is committed to engaging in interfaith work and dialogue with other communities in Cambridge & the Greater Boston Area. These inter-religious partnerships demonstrate our shared beliefs with other faith traditions and desire to grow and learn from one another.

On Sunday, November 17, 2019, at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School in Cambridge, MA, Western Avenue participated in a joint service of worship and fellowship with the Jewish Community Relations Council (Boston), Kingdom Empowerment Center (Cambridge), and Temple Emanuel (Newton). Choirs from Western Avenue, Kingdom Empowerment, and Temple Emanuel led the gathering in worship, while Pastor Jeremy Battle (Western Avenue) and Apostle Lorraine Thornhill (Kingdom Empowerment) offered reflections from their trip to Israel. Nahma Nadich (Jewish Community Relations Council) provided words of occasion, and Rabbi Wesley Gardenswartz of Temple Emanuel was the primary speaker for this event.
