Pastor Jeremy D. Battle
A son of the church, Reverend Dr. Jeremy D. Battle, hails from Brighton, Alabama, and comes from two generations of pastors and preachers. Pastor Battle loves God’s church and God’s people. He is a careful student of Scripture, committed to the work of teaching and preaching with conviction, depth, and contemporary application. He is a gifted musician and vocalist who delights in worship and making the Gospel accessible to all. In the summer of 2024, he released his debut gospel album, In Jesus Name.
Since 2011, he has served as Pastor of Western Avenue Baptist Church in Cambridge, MA, where he has led with vision in both the pulpit and administration—strengthening the church through faithful teaching, spirit-filled preaching, prayer, and leadership. Under his leadership, WABC has completed over $1.4 million in renovations to its 109-year-old building, while balancing budgets and expanding ministry impact.
Battle completed his first two years of college at Stanford University, where he received the prestigious Chappell Scholarship. During his time at Stanford, he proudly reinstated and chartered on Stanford’s campus the historic Beta Tau Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.—a chapter whose presence was popularized by Huey P. Newton in the Bay Area. Desirous of an HBCU experience, Dr. Battle transferred to the Historic Morehouse College, where he graduated as a Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude, honors graduate. He went on to earn his Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, where he now serves as Denominational Counselor and Lecturer of Baptists in the Office of Ministry Studies. He later completed the Doctor of Ministry degree at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. He is blessed to share life and ministry with his college sweetheart and wife, Jessica, whom he met while at Stanford University. Jessica, herself a daughter of the church from two generations of pastors, is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and an honors graduate of Stanford University. She also earned her law degree from the University of Texas and is now an accomplished healthcare attorney, serving as Head of Legal of North America at Biogen in Cambridge, MA. Together, Pastor Jeremy and Jessica are the proud parents of three children (Miss Jordan, Jeremy Jr., and Jennifer), each of whom is a bundle of energy and a whole vibe unto themselves!

Jessica L. Parker-Battle
Jessica L. Parker-Battle, Esq. is a leading healthcare attorney, devoted wife, and mother. She completed her undergraduate studies at Stanford University, where she and Pastor Battle became college sweethearts. They forged their friendship and eventual marriage working together as leaders in the Stanford University Gospel Choir. They share a passion for the gospel as demonstrated across their ministry work and daily lives. After studying at Stanford Jessica received her Law Degree from the University of Texas School of Law. Jessica is a proud southerner from Austin, Texas and is a "PK" from two generations of pastors. She is a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc . Jessica's favorite scripture is Colossians 3:23 "And whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not to men".
