God, This Ain't Fair
In this sermon titled “God, This Ain’t Fair” from Jeremiah 12:1-5, Pastor Battle emphasizes that often, life does not seem fair - it appears as if people who aren’t following God are prospering and God’s justice is not working. In response to these realities, Pastor Battle suggests that we learn how to manage the spirit of complaint with our expectations (vs. 1-4). If we expect God for more, we must anticipate more work and challenges, rather than complaining about the difficulties we encounter. We must also increase our capacity (v.5); if we are complaining, it might be that we have reached our capacity. Instead, we should ask God to give us the grit and grind to do more with less and increase our efficiency. Finally, we need to remember to practice and prepare for greater (v. 5). God wants to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think. But are we preparing ourselves for what God wants to do through us?
