Lessons From The Prophets: Fighting Futility & Frustration
In this next sermon from the series "Lessons From The Prophets," Pastor Battle explores Haggai 1 & 2 to help us understand how to fight against futility and frustration. We must first become better stewards of time and realize that sometimes, our frustration will not be resolved with more time but by more efficiently managing the time God has given us (Hag. 1:1-6). Secondly, we must build God’s house and God’s body; we will gain clarity about our lives and purpose when we use our gifts to build up the things of God (Hag. 1:7-9). We should also be sure to stir up God’s spirit in us (and allow God to stir up His spirit) so that we can follow God and do the work God has called us to (Hag. 1:12-15). But we have to recognize the progress we’ve made because even though we might not be where we want to be, God is doing something in and through us (Hag. 2:2-3).
